I think it's this health care deal that has doomed any hope I had in the Republican party. They're doing the same thing they accused the Dems of doing back in 2004, which is basically sitting their like a butthurt 4 year old with their arms crossed and a frown on their face. They're not offering any ideas to fix a broken system; they want to maintain the broken status quo.

Yeah, which is exactly why Congress is broken to its very core.

What's always cracks me up is when the polls come out and Congress as a whole has a 15%-20% approval rating, but then the voters never vote out their Congressman. It's like "well we hate Congress. Congress sucks! Oh well except for my Congressman. He's the only good one!"

So I guess it's fair to say that a little bit of my leftover hatred goes towards the American voters in general.

I was actually at a formal dinner event in town a couple weeks ago and my local Rep was sitting at my table. He's a friend of the family, so we were talking about the health care bill. I swear to god this guy had no idea what he was talking about. No stats, no proof, just emotional "American way" talk. I think I heard "socialism" and "government takeover" about 30 times in the 10 minute discussion. I had to do a double take and make sure it wasn't Hannity sitting next to me.

And that assdouche spilled wine on my tux.
