Nah. The majority of Iraqis are celebrating this news. I just hope, unlike America, he's not in prison 10 to 20 years waiting to be hung. They should drop him ASAP.

Good deal. Shame our country doesn't work as swiftly carrying out sentences.

actually whether it is a majority or not- there is a huge proportion of the Country that if there was an election tomorrow- would want to vote for Saddam

I'd have to say you're wrong. Unless the media all the way from Fox, CNN, and Al-Jazeera are lying.

Wow not too bad of timing. 2 days before the election.

Yep, I was all set to vote for Granholm tomorrow, then I saw this post.

I thought "Isn't that curious? When did Saddam get captured?"

So I did some research, it turns out that the GOP was in power when he was apprehended, then further research revealed that the GOP was also in power when he was sentenced to death.

Well, in light of all this recent data, I have decided to vote for DeVoss.

They both blow. Devos is a cardboard cutout and Granholm is a canadian. Oh and don't get your hopes up, Granholm will win with more than 50% of the vote. Devos or Granholm, no matter who wins, we all lose.

I guess that depends on how you spin it.

You see, if Granholm gets it...Michigan will continue to lead the nation in unemployment.

And that's still a win. We'll win at losing! YAY!

This is what I'm basing all my voting decisions on this year: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=52747

Michigan is too blue to see straight, sadly.

On the upside though, there's no shortage of Liberal Douches to practice new Muay Thai moves on.

Which is nice.

How appropriate. Saddam will suffer the fate of a common criminal, and he won't even get the firing squad he wants. Fitting, since the firing squad is usually reserved for military prisoners.

WTF???
When did this happen???
As far as I was aware, the trial hadn't gotten past the guilty/innocence phase and was nowhere near sentencing.

The timing is a little fishy, but I honestly don't think it matters much. Nobody is going to get a signifigant poll jump because of their rep as the party that facilitated the execution of someone. At best you'd just polarize people who are on different sides of the death sentence debate. For every bloodthirsty evangelical you appeased there'd be a ticked off tree hugger somewhere.

Those were my thoughts exactly. As far as weather it will affect elections, well I know I won't be voting for Saddam. Other than that I can see war-backers parading it as a victory even though it doesn't really mean much of anything.... well besides that the one guy who was keeping that country in control is now to be executed.
