outsider 08-13-2006, 02:17 AM Headline News Anchor: ‘Might Some Argue That Lamont…Is The al Qaeda Candidate?’ (http://thinkprogress.org/2006/08/11/headline-news-lamont/)
That font pasted that big. Anyways, I know this is a more or less isolated instance. But as far as CNN having a liberal bias, this is just a more overt example of more of the same.
yeah but everyone has personal bias...
is there anything that can truely be called "neutral" besides when referring to a gear ratio?
outsider 08-13-2006, 02:32 AM Oh I'm just remembering all the times people said CNN was all sorts of liberal, and now here they are describing an antiwar democrat as the al Qaeda candidate.
true
i was watching a Fox News clip of anne coulter on hannity & colmes and colmes was basically telling her that he was offended that she was making fun of him for being "liberal"
outsider 08-13-2006, 02:35 AM I make fun of people who take Ann Coulter seriously.
TheZenMan 08-13-2006, 02:36 AM yeah but everyone has personal bias...

Yes, but it lies outside of the intellect, which excludes 100% of all political issues.
Everyone has a perspective and everyone is right. Why would you be wrong on purpose? It's not possible.
It's when people insist that their perspective isn't subjective that it requires any other perspective to be wrong. So long as you realize that your view is just that, your view, then it resembles neutrality.
zen is a neocon :ohnoes:
and by neocon i mean Neo Convict
TheZenMan 08-13-2006, 03:20 AM I'm not sure what a Neocon is, but it seems to be what people I disagree with refer to when I make it known, so in as much as I still don't agree with them...I guess I'm a neocon.
neocon = neo conservative...
read any of Molly Ivin's columns and you'll see the term used often, usually in a perjorative sense

Well, I didn't mean I haven't heard the various definitions, just that all of them seem to be useless as anything other than identifying the enemy of the leftist view.
Left and right are conditions of duality, as long as I inhabit a body, both are required.

even if you don't agree with the definition, it's alot of information.

BillyBobRedneck 08-13-2006, 06:01 AM On a random note: I used to think that Bill O'Reily was hilarious. Then I found out that he was being serious.
Wagonburner 08-13-2006, 06:05 AM I really do want to fuck Ann Coulter in the ass. She wants it
then she might not be so uptight...

You do? :eek4:
I think I would rather read one of her books than deal with that.

This is why you should never go into politics. Politicians rarely say what they feel or are honest about what they believe. Money and the desire for approval require them to reflect their constituents perceived desires.
So when you see Bill Clinton's wife talking about protecting children from obscene content, or an unmarried, Manhattan-dwelling socialite like Ann Coulter championing red state values, try not to snicker.
Or better yet, just try to understand the deeper meaning of the word hypocrisy. (http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/07610a.htm)

Me get into politics? Worry not.
What I was getting at was the fact that everyone can only do what they feel is best. And no one acts wrongly intentionally.
People don't go around being wrong, to them it's right.
I get your point though, and you actually pointed out two very fine examples.
Politics twists it even a bit further, like you say they try to tell you what they think you want to hear, which is indeed snicker worthy.
